Happy Birthday to my Trenny Pants

Tren, You were born this day 9 years ago at 7:30 in the morning. I tried so hard to have you on my dad's birthday the 15th, but you were determined to wait until today. You were also 2 weeks and 2 days late from your due date. You weighed 7lbs and 11oz and were 22 1/2" tall. You were beautiful! All the nurses voted you as the most beautiful baby there. Dark eye brows and long eyelashes. You were the sweetest baby and so alert. I couldn't put you down. I held you all day and all night. You were my special baby. I am so happy you are in my life. I Love you little guy.

My super tough sweet sister

LeAnn is pregnant with my nephew Mike.
I was an Aunt at the age of 3 months old.

My sister LeAnn & her husband Don,
Dinah holding me, with my brother kendall making ears behind her.
My brother Byron with the sweet yellow pants
and my dad at my blessing.

I told her when she started losing her hair with her chemo treatments that I would shave my head with her. It is a humbling experience, but the best experience that I've had. I am able to know a tiny bit that she is going through. She is a trooper and super tough. She just had her last chemo and will start radiation soon. I spent part of the day with her yesterday and she is an inspiration. Thank you Dinah! I'm so glad that you are my sister. I love you!

To my Dad: I LOVE YOU

after i took out my eyebrow ring. he still doesn't look to happy about it.
I think Stanford took this picture.
My Mormon Manifesto - A Religious and Political Suicide Mission, Culminating the end of my facebook days of innocent bystander
It might seem funny to you, but it is very offensive to me. Just reading some of the posts from the people on there disgusts me. There is nothing but hateful, angry, foul language on there. And words have power. They have power to influence, dictate and judge. The pictures on there, that members of the group posted, are disgusting. And there are more than one million members who subscribe to that belief. To me that is popular opinion based on hate and lies.
I'm getting a little tired of all the hate emails, jokes and smears against the President of our country. Especially by those who profess to be Christians and Mormons in particular. Does our religion teach us to be like that? No. I don't think so. Read below to see what one of our Prophets said about the leaders of our nation. It applies now, just as it did back then.
I am not for Obama, nor am I anti-Obama. As Jefferson put it: " I am neither federalist or anti-federalist: that I am of neither party, nor yet a trimmer between parties."
I am an American. I am Human. I am Mormon and I am Christian. I follow Christ and HIS teachings. Does he teach hate? Anger? Fear?
No. His teaching are that of Love, kindness, charity.
I love you ALL! and appreciate your thoughts and feelings. but just one thing I request:
Next time you send out an email, join a group, or spread a rumor, please do 2 things for me:
1. Check the facts. make sure what your are spreading is accurate and not gossip. Snopes.com is a great bipartisan resource for that.
2. Ask yourself, is this something Christ would repeat? if not, don't do it. It's what I tell my 5 year old and it's great advice.
What happens when we read an email that really makes us angry, our blood boils, we want to yell this information to the roof tops to everyone so we email it to everyone. But what if we found out later it wasn't true. The gossip has already spread, the anger is still there. Just like the gossip game that we all played as a kid. What started out as something simple and easy to understand, became corrupted and not like the original at the end. And our prophets have taught us to not gossip. Sending these kind of emails are just the same.
We teach our children to respect authority, what are we teaching them when we do not respect the office of the presidency. There is a real difference between disagreeing with him and tar and feathering him. Joseph Smith could attest to that. There is a great quote from Albert Einstein which says: "Great Spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." What ever you think about Obama, he was one of the "Noble and great ones" before this world was, sent here to lead us. He needs our prayers.
Are we like the anti-nephi-lehis who buried their weapons of war into the ground? Or like the Zoramites standing upon the Rameumptom, praising God and thanking him that we are better than our brethern? (Alma 31:11-25)
Dallin H. Oaks said in the April conference of 1990 that: "Many good people promote peace by opposing war. When a nation is governed according to the voice of its people, its actions will mirror the righteousness or wickedness of its people."
If you don't agree with the president, get up and do something constructive about it. Volunteer in civic groups, VOTE, research and peacefully rally. And can I just say that the teabaggers are not the most peaceful when they bring AK's to conventions. That's not showing how much power you have, that's showing how much hate you have.
I'm not saying this to any one person, just venting my feelings about all of humanity right now. Please be kind, loving and respectful to each other, even if we disagree sometimes. What is your actions mirroring in your heart?
There were some excellent talks this last conference about being kind and respectful to our brethen, particularly Elder Uchtdorf's Sunday morning message. Listen to it again: http://broadcast.lds.org/gPlease read the conference address below. Do not be angry with me because I speak harsh words, for, how does it go? "the guilty taketh the truth to be hard, for it cutteth them to the very center." -1 Nephi 16:2
I wish that this sort of thing would get forwarded on more than hate and ridicule
Harold B. Lee, “A Time of Decision,” Ensign, Jul 1972, 29
Address delivered Sunday morning, April 9, 1972
This year is again a most important year of decision for our day. Some have even said that this is the most critical period in the history of this nation and of the world.
I believe it is an illusion to say that this is the most critical, decisive time. Write it upon the hearts of all of us that every dispensation has been just as decisive, and likewise that every year has been the most decisive year and time for ourselves, for this nation, and for the world. This is our day and time when honorable men must be brought forward to meet the tremendous challenges before us.
This is the beginning of an intense political activity, when men of every persuasion in the political arena will be clamoring for attention and acceptance by the electorate. There will be controversy, debate, conflict, and contention, which seem to be the order of a political campaign.
In its loftiest sense, controversy may mean disputations because of honest differences of opinion. In its most degrading sense it may mean quarreling, strife, and name-calling. An example of that which degrades is the bitter personal abuse that so frequently is heaped upon an opposing candidate. Name-calling is continued throughout the whole season until listeners are left with doubt and mistrust that honor and integrity are to be found in any of those who may eventually be elected. The obvious hazard is that when these elected leaders have been maligned and down-graded, the seeds of disrespect to authority and law and order are sown in the minds of youth, particularly, instead of respectful obedience to counsel and to the laws enacted by those whose integrity and honesty have been thus impugned.
The story, presumably authentic, is told that during the Civil War when the fortunes of the Union armies, under the command of General Grant, were going badly, some concerned ministers called on President Abraham Lincoln at the White House and forcefully urged the dismissal of Grant.
To these men he is alleged to have said: “Gentlemen, General Grant has under his command all that we hold dear in this nation. Instead of criticism, you too should get down on your knees and pray God that he would see this nation through to victory.”
We related this story to a president of the United States some years ago and assured him that no matter what his name or his political party, we too were frequently on our knees, praying God that he and the leaders of this nation and of the world would bring us through the crises of the present.
We were heartened by the president’s reply when he said, “I think that every president of this country during his term of office has been frequently on his knees praying to Almighty God.”
During these years of extreme tension, you may constantly have in mind the admonition of the Lord himself: “Wherefore, be subject to the powers that be, until he reigns whose right it is to reign, and subdues all enemies under his feet,” and likewise he reminds us that “he that keepeth the laws of God hath no need to break the laws of the land.” (D&C 58:22, 21.)
We have recorded the angelic refrain at the time of the Savior’s birth as recorded by Luke: “… on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:14.)
Remember always our declaration of political faith: “We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.” (A of F 1:12.)
Wherever you are, wherever you live, pray for the leaders of your country, for remember that they too hold in their hands all that you hold dear. Again I repeat the Lord’s injunction: “… be subject to the powers that be, until he reigns whose right it is to reign, and subdues all enemies under his feet.” (D&C 58:22.)

Workout until 10am. Rush home, shower change (sometimes go to costco if time). Feed kids. change diaper. Hope for potty training miracle. Not enough time. Leave house by 12pm to drop off Ander at babysitter. Drop off Mason at carpool. Co-op for Tren's class from 12:30 to 3:30. After co-oping, go pick up Mason and 2 other boys from Kindergarten at the U by 4:00. Drop off two other boys. Pick up Ander. Home by 4:30. Quick snack. Dress mason in soccer gear, takes forever. Rush out the door (pack kids in car) to Soccer at 5:00. Home by 6:00. Start dinner. eat by 7:00. kids in bed by 8:00 usually 9. clean kitchen and do homework for tomorrow's class. Usually in bed by 11, sometimes 12. and that was just monday.
Tuesday. Usually I have to wake up at 5am to get my homework finished. (Reading critical theory usually puts me to sleep.) Same thing, get kids to school by 8:40. Then go to my school. Drop off Ander and Mason by 9am (then am usually greeted with a scowl by ander's teacher when she see's he's still in a diaper. I'm working on it, just not home enough to enforce it. that's what i'm paying you for lady). Then find parking, review a little on homework before class starts at 9:30. 11:00 class over, study until 12:3o. pick up kids from preschool. Trying not to fall asleep at this point. 12:45 take mason to his carpool for his other school. Home by 1:00 and starving. Put Ander down for nap. couple of hours to study or clean house. Leave house by 3:30 to Pick up Mason and boys. Home by 4:30. Start dinner at 5. try to fit in crossfit at 5:30. Eat at 6. clean up and kids to bed. by 8 or usually 9. Now I'm blogging at ten. trying to recover from the day. and that's just tuesday. not quite as busy as monday.
Wednesday. Same as monday mostly. Boys to school. Crossfit. home. eat. then this is my one free day that I can go and help my sister. Drop off mason to his carpool early about 11. then head to my sisters and help clean or cook or just visit for the afternoon. Then rush home by 4pm when tren gets home. If time, take him to scouts. Mason home by 4:30. start dinner at 5. yup, eat at 6. Clean up and homework again for class tomorrow.
Thursday. Same as tuesday. Kids to school. Class. home. eat. Take mason to school by 12:30. home by 1:30. Ander nap. a couple of hours to do homework, but mostly try to get house clean. in two hours. ya right. Tren gets home 4:00. load up the kids to take tren and friends to Drama by 4:30. Pick up mason from friends. Home by 5. dinner. tren home at 6. eat. clean. Bed by 11.
Friday. kids to school. crossfit. home. eat. Kids to other school. back home by 1:30. tren home. Work on Tren's homework (or playdates for him). Ander nap. clean house. usually by this point, i don't want to do anything else. so i FB, email or watch Doctor who to take my mind off things for a little bit. that usually lasts about one hour. then mason gets home. dinner. eat. bed.
saturday is full of soccer and other various activities. Always I try to Clean the house this day. So far it hasn't been done.
Sunday. i'm the 1st counselor in primary so that has me busy all morning through til 2. get home. eat. and take a glorious nap. wake up. dinner. plan for the week. (menu and schedule). clean up. go to bed. I'm done.
Repeat. then starts this insanity all over again.
Only a couple more months of this schedule. but mostly it won't be over until Mason's school is over middle of june. All three of my kids, in three different schools. We all had 3 different weeks of spring breaks. I'm tired. I'm burned out. I am so done with this. Next year I'm planning on having Tren go to the local school here. Actually all three of them will be there. Hallelujah. I can't wait. I'm so close to being done with my school, that I can't stop that now. I would have to co-op 9 hours a week at tren's school next year if all of them were there. Which they won't be. cause I'm done. I'm done driving, carpooling, co-oping. i'm just done. I like being busy. but this much is insane. I thought it was suppose to get easier the older they get. but so far it's not. I think I'll check myself into a mental hospital when this is all over. But actually, I'll be having surgery on my feet in june. No more driving. no more running, chasing, carpooling craziness. Instead I'll be locked up in my house unable to go anywhere. then i'll be crazy for a different reason. but i think i'll be ok with that.

Exercisable nut
I cleaned out our office the other day. I just couldn't' take it anymore. Chris and I share the same office to do school work, bills, electronic hobbies of Chris's and everything else you do in an office and it was a disaster. It still is, but at least you can walk through it now. I really started missing my mom this weekend because she was the one who could help me get organized in a day. And have fun doing it. I sure miss her.
I have so much blogging to catch up on, but I think I will just close for now with my Exercise log. Oh and the other day some mysterious person donated $50 to the Fight For Air Climb in my name. Now I just have to raise another $50. I still don't know who did it, but it was so thoughtful. It really made my day! So if that person reads this blog, Thank You! Whoever you are! Hope it comes back to you in a big way.

All of these I started at 9am and finished around 10.
I'm also suppose to be taking my hear rate and so far it's been between 132 to 165 depending on the workout and also how much i was able to catch my breath in order to even take my pulse.
I'll try to post some interesting things soon and also some things about the kids and maybe even some pictures too. One day at a time. Tren was in a play this weekend and did so well. I hope to post that soon. For now, I better get to bed so I can start my going to bed early policy. Will that really make me smarter? And my nightowl husband just started a movie. Great.

More Logging and Fight for Air Climb
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVBgKB4Gnsw
The required weight is 65lbs for women, but I haven't weight lifted much for a couple of months so I started out with 37lbs and did jumping pullups. I still don't have the rhythm right for the kipping ones like in the video. My time was just over 7 minutes, which obviously means I need to go up in weight. These people are nuts who can do it in under five. Or are in really great shape. My PR (personal record) was just under 14 minutes with 65lbs (I think). SO I need to work towards that again.
The warmup started out with:
500 meter row
20 Wall balls
15 Kettlebell swings
15 deck squats
The cash out for me was
60 pistols to strengthen my ankle
I'm planning on doing the Fight For Air Climb on February 27th. It's where you run up the 23 flights of stairs of the wells fargo building. Doesn't sound like much, but I hear its a lung burner. It's a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. The goal is for each participant to raise $100 for the cause. Those reading this and can donate, I would love you. It would also be very encouraging for me. :) Here is a link to my donation page: http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/e01/part.jsp?rid=1102979&id=2735&acct=9001307822
Thanks in advance to everyone!
Last but not least, my classes are going great so far. I really enjoy my Critical Theory class. My politics class is going better. My teacher is very entertaining. Some of the other students were saying as we were leaving class that you would never be bored or fall asleep in his class. It is a little, or should I say a lot depressing though. He has some pretty staggering statistics and it really makes life in the US outlook seem glum. But he is definitely entertaining and so far I've agreed with all he has said. This semester might be a rough one though. But I'm enjoying it so far.
I plan to go to crossfit again on Friday. I need to make up time from this week. The goal set in my fitness class is to workout 3 hours per week. That should be pretty easy at crossfit for sure. I workout and get credit for it. What could be better? Wish me luck on the climb if you can. Thanks everyone!

exercise log stardate 01.15.10
My friend Jason is teaching Critical theory and he's great. Not to mention he reads my blog occasionally, so I have to be nice of course. You won't see me complaining here, well at least not much. The Politics class on the other hand...Pure Hell! The syllabus was 10 pages long and it took us the first two classes to go over..The guy really needs to lay off the caffeine. Or speed.
So here is where I begin with my exercise log. Much like when I wrote on here for my life philosophy class, I will also be blogging for my health class now. It will probably be boring for some, but tolerable for fellow crossfitters, like Jason. Oh yes, he comes to crossfit as well. It's a nut house there. Only the crazy ones get in. Like me. Anyway as you see from my workout today, I was as crazy as you can be. So can I get a drum roll please... oh and by the way this is from two workouts today. Yes, I did two of them just for fun. See crazy person talking about exercise being fun.
For the warm-up:
1000 Meter Row
Work out of the day or WOD:
Squat cleans 1 max rep.
my max was 65lbs.
25 regular (meaning not girlie) pushups without rest
10 minutes of Turkish Get Ups with 12k kettlebell weight -23 total
And yes this is all in secret code for all you non-crossfitters.
Second work out included this:
30 Pistols
120 Supermans
64 Russian twists
500 Meter Row
All was as many reps in one minute 2 rounds.
Started at 9:00 am and finished at 11:00 am. Ate a lot of protein after.
Sorry if I'm being boring. Hope to post something interesting in between.
